It contains all nine essential amino acids necessary for human health and is considered one of the most bioavailable protein sources, meaning the body can efficiently absorb and utilise its amino acids for various functions. Whey protein concentrate is particularly rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) such as leucine, isoleucine, and valine, which are important for the maintenance and growth of muscle tissue, support of immune function, and repair of body cells.
